Everyone, welcome to my Children's Writing tribe.

I am excited to get started (despite the delay in replies) and am glad to be in touch with people who share the same interest. I suppose the first thing we should so is to introduce ourselves.

My name is Eric and I have been writing for children seriously for 4 or 5 years. I have a degree in Creaive Writing from Rutgers University and am a chiropractor my profession. I am 34 years old and live in Albany, NY.

I have written three completed manuscripts that are being considered by publishers:

1. a middle grade fantasy novel (ages 9-12)
2. a chapter book mystery (ages 7-9)
3. a picture book manuscript

I also have had several articles published in the past several months (one coming out in Highlights soon).

I actively attend writing conferences in the northeast US and am getting ready to go to NYC next month for the big SCBWI conference. If you don't know what SCBWI is, you should. Check it out at www.SCBWI.org.

We can do many things with this group. We can discuss writing technique. Talk about the process of getting published. We might arrange for manuscript exchanges. Or anything else WRITING RELATED.

Please no soliciting on this website and no spamming the group. These are things I take seriously and will take appropriate action if it is violated. Likewise, I ask that we keep discussions civil and refrain from any profanity or inappropriate discussions. I will warn members if they overstep bounds and I hope you respect this.

I look forward to working with a group that shares an interest in children's writing.

Please, everyone take a moment to introduce yourselves!

Eric
